四虎影院 Magazine The Class of 2014 Brings Stellar Qualifications and Diversity to 四虎影院

The class of 2014 arrived Aug. 26 for a four-day orientation before classes began Aug. 30. The incoming 384 students include seven National Merit Scholars, 65 students from the Tri Counties and six international students from China, Singapore, Philippines, Germany, Sweden and Kenya. 四虎影院 26 percent of the class are students of color.

There are also 52 students who鈥檝e transferred from schools such as DePaul University, Whitworth University, the University of St. Andrews, Tulane University, Pepperdine University, University of San Diego, Pt. Loma Nazarene University, Biola University, Azusa Pacific University, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara.

鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to welcoming our new students to 四虎影院,鈥 says Joyce Luy, dean of admission. 鈥淚 have no doubt they will make valuable contributions to 四虎影院. We are thankful to the many donors who have made it possible for these students to achieve their dream of attending 四虎影院.鈥

四虎影院 has selected four Monroe Scholars, honoring top students with full-tuition scholarships. This year鈥檚 recipients are: Daniel Ray, Bakersfield, Calif.; Kristabel Stark, Whitinsville, Mass.; Stephanie Brooks, West Barnstable, Mass.; and Eric Bateman, Renton, Wash. The students have an average GPA of 4.5 and scored 1500 out of 1600 on the SAT.

The Monroe Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship offered to a few exceptional and high-achieving first-year students each year. It鈥檚 the highest academic honor an incoming student can receive.
